Non survey based methods which focus on the analysis of actual purchasing habits made by individuals. These methods assume that the preferences of consumers can be revealed by such habits. Among the main types, travel cost and hedonic price methods stand out as the most frequently used.
This type of methods is especially used in demand-side valuation assessments. Below can be found assessments (especially from the demand side) made within the PROVIDE Project using these valuation methods. As for hedonic pricing, housing market has been used in both cases studies.
Geopark Ralsko (Czech Republic):
We concentrate on the public good Recreational services of forests in the context of the newly established Geopark Ralsko. We touch the other public good Biodiversity conservation in the context of restricting or enhancing the recreational potential/function of forests only.
